My Pilgrimages 54

MadanMohan Tarun

Shantidhaam

Temples are highly charged places with positive vibrations.
Here you get good opportunity to meet your inner-self.
Unless you are in closer contact with yourself
, you cannot feel comfortable, in spite of all the facilities of life available to you.
This is the place ,where you surrender yourself, including all your inner and outer burdens.

Here, when you pray for something, you are fully sure that you are submitting your request to the genuine authority.
We have many gods.
Every individual has his or her own god and  feels comfortable with him.
ECOHAM ,BAHUSYAAMI.  ‘I am the one , only one.’  He desired to turn into many and he turned into endless forms.

Here , at Harikiri area of Bangalore, the master of this universe sits as Sai baba.

This is Shantidham.
A place of peace of mind and soul.

I visited this temple on 14th of March,2013.

MY PILGRIMAGES 53 The Huge Hanuman Of Agara And Some Other Temples

My Pilgrimages 53

MadanMohan Tarun

The Huge Hanuman of Agara and some other nearby temples

This was my second visit to huge Hanuman at Agara, Bangalore on 1st Feb 2013.
Here he stands straight under the open sky elevating your soul to such a height which fills you with vibrating spiritual touch.

This is Hanuman, who took jump of the ocean from India to Lanka and crossed it with typhonic speed to search Sita, wife of Ram.

This is the Hanuman, who flew from Lanka to Kailaash, at Himalaya, to bring Sanjeevani to save Laxman, who was badly hurt by Indrajit in the war of Lanka. Hanuman brought a huge part of Himalaya to avoid any type of mistake in recognizing sanjeevani.

The huge idol of Hanuman at Agara reflects the powerful Hanuman and his extraordinary personality.

Here Hanuman faces the old temple of Shri Ram, which I missed to visit last time.

This area has four more temples, which I visited first time.

There is a small temple of goddess Durga near the huge hanuman idol.

Just at few steps ahead from here, you find an old temple of Hanuman. This is the oldest temple of Hanuman here, as I am told by the old priest Sheri Narsimha ji. He told me that he performed first puja here in 1935, when he was a young man of 25 years. Earlier other priests performed puja here.

Here Hanuman is crudely carved on a big piece of stone. His face does not reflect the same Hanuman, as presented in other temples. Here his face looks conic with two exposed sharp teeth which reflect ugrataa, ferocious.

There is a temple of lord Shiva just facing the temple of old Hanuman.

A new huge temple of Jagannath is under fast construction at the other side of huge Hanuman. The chariot shaped temple of Jaganaath covers the same height as of huge Hanuman. It is certainly going to be an achievement among temples of Bangalore.

My Pilgrimages 51

MadanMohan Tarun

Dakshina Mukha Nandi Teertha Kalyani Kshetra

This temple is situated in Malleswaram

The main attraction of this temple is flowing water from the mouth of Nandi, the vehicle of the lord, continuously, without any break ever. The water from the mouth of Nandi  keep falling on the linga through a kalash kept just above the lord. This water goes directly to the small pond in front of the idol. Devotees carry this water with great faith in healing power of this water.

There is a white idol of Nandi  ,facing south , placed on the top of the entrance of the temple.

I visited this temple in Malleswaram, Bangalore on 16th of January 2013.

This temple faces famous Sri Gangamma devi temple.

Kadu Mallikarjunaswamy : Malleswaram – Hindu Temple

MadanMohan Tarun

This huge temple is situated on a hillock in Malleswaram.

It is believed that this place was searched by Venkoji, the step brother of Shivaji in 1669. This is one of the oldest temples of Bangalore . In those days Bangalore was a village and belonged to the Bijapur rulers.

Once venkoji, stepbrother of Shivaji came with his Minister Baji rao Peshwa to iplement tax on this area he visited Mallapura’s Mallikarjun swami  temple and  he came across a  swambhu Shivalingam  there.

He was so much influenced by this place that he declared this area as an area of dharma and granted  all taxes earned from Medharanignahalli village for this temple.
I visited this temple on 16th of January 2013.
