Police has performed a spiritual duty, when Anna ji was on his classical fast.

It had no stick in its hand.

Indian police has written a golden page in the history of police administration.

It was not an ordinary occasion when our police performed its duty in a historic way.

Delhi Ramlila Maidan had turned into mini India, packed with the people of every part, every age and every walk of life from all over the country, with a single aim to be a part of the vision and action of a spirit in the form of a body to make India, their country, still worth living for everybody.

Police had a challenge to deal with such an extraordinary occasion.

It visualized and acted in an extraordinary way which has no parallel in the world.

I salute the glowing and spiritually charged administration of Delhi police who planned it so well and made it happened.

I recommend special award for them.

When movement of independence of India was at its peak under the leadership of Gandhi ji, I was already born. I was a child during those days, but not so much a child that I could not have been taken to Gandhi ji. In those days a child was taken as too much child for a longer time. I could not be taken to Gandhi ji for the same reason and I missed a great opportunity to be a part of those great historical moments, which are never repeated again. I still suffer from a deep painful feeling of missing those rare moments.

My brother, my paternal aunt’s son, used to organize a regular morning- procession every day. We, all children had a round of the whole village shouting slogans like ‘Bharat Maataa Ki Jai’ ‘Mahatma Gandhi Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Matram.’ Gradually our procession was joined by people of every age. Everybody used to come out from their houses, be it men or women. This, perhaps, made them feel as if they are attending the independence march with Gandhi ji. How one can keep himself confined to his or her house, when the whole country is at war under the leadership of a great and unusual soldier!

In those days, many people of Jehanabad had left for Delhi to participate in the movement, personally. Some of them had already joined chandrashekhar Azad and Sardar Bhagat singh and they still led their life in the same style. They used to do rigorous exercise daily. Pandit Laxminath pandey was one of them , whom I remember well. Fida Hussain sahib was a highly dedicated Gandhian of our town. Time to time he visited Delhi to participate in the movement personally, with Gandhi ji. He was an honest person of high dignity and was always seen in well washed Khadi dhoti, Kurta , topi and chappal. He used to come to our place to meet my father time – to – time . I enjoyed his every visit as a festival. He is one of the individuals, whom I liked best.

But those people also, who were unable to join Gandhi ji personally, felt themselves as an integral part of the Gandhian movement. The whole country was fully and deeply colored with Gandhian sentiment only.

Media was not so strong those days. There were a few people in villages ,who had radio. But nobody ever missed even a leaf’s movement in Delhi. Everybody kept himself ready to sacrifice at any moment’s call. Crimes like theft and robbery had almost disappeared in those days around my village. When a truthful man leads a country or anything, he or she becomes omnipresent and sheds his positive impact on everybody. Gandhi was such a godly figure.

Movement started by Anna ji Hazare, has almost recreated those great days. Visuals of these great moments have reduced the painful feeling; I had of not seeing Gandhi ji with my own eyes, in spite I was very much present in those days.

The way our own government arrested Anna ji on 16th of August 2011, even before he had not started his fast, reminds me the ways, British ruled us. This act is enough to expose the mental and moral status of those, who are our present rulers. They are so much involved in selfishness and corruption and the fear of being exposed at any time that they see their enemy even in people like Anna Hazare. They care nobody else excepting themselves. They are confined to a limited world of their selfishness. They keep themselves ready to harm anybody, up to any extent, in order to save their own throne and face.

After all, what created Anna Hazard! Anna Hazare is the eruption of consolidated anger of people of India. This volcano is certainly not the product of a few days.

Congress has not been able to produce any leader after Indira Gandhi. Till the time it reached to a leader like Manmohan singh, it was left with no capacity to do so. Manmohan ji, no doubt, is a thorough gentleman, honest and a scholar of his own field, but, certainly, he has no any quality of a leader. He can hear but can’t do anything at his own. Even he had to wait for words from a hidden, but a well known corner, to open his mouth. I feel sorry for him. Presently, congress is surrounded by remainings of Nehru – family which needed a man like Manmohan ji. Not that , congress had no one fit to take up the job of prime minister, but if the command had to remain in the hands of Nehru – family , they needed a proxy – prime minister and Manmohan ji was found best among all in their view. Keeping all these facts into consideration, he was placed as PRIME MINISTER of India.

Under the command of such a leader, ruling chairs went in the control of criminals gradually. They started sucking every drop of hard earnings of common people and others, mercilessly. Common, educated people lost the value of their voice among them. Old and new sinners, turned into rulers. they followed only one policy- YOU CARE MY WELFARE, I WILL CARE YOUR WELFARE.

Jails of India under British rule were packed with people who participated in independence movement, but jails of independent India are now packed with ministers, officers, officials on the charges of heinous acts of corruptions in various forms. Even judges have fallen down from their glories of heights. They did not spare even treasury of sports. They failed at crucial moments to produce good cricket, but they filled their houses with the money banked for the game purposes. They know, they are going to be jailed only for a few months, later they have whole life to enjoy with their whole money. WHOSE MONEY IS THIS???

This all was becoming unbearable for the country, but there was no any effective, dependable voice, charged with the force of spotless character to become the expression of disappointment and anger of common people. Incarnation of Anna Hazard took place in the same situation. He became voice and the choice of the country. His call opened all the closed directions and people flooded and flooded from all directions to join his movement against corruption. It was joined by the children of nine years to the people of more than hundred years. It was joined by businessmen, officials, and youths from schools, colleges, universities, farmers, saints, men, women, commoners, specialists, lawyers, judges and people from all directions of life. Movement of Anna became really a MOVEMENT OF INDEPENDENCE AFTER INDEPENDENCE.

Some of the participants of Anna’s movement were carrying their little children on their soldiers when one of them was asked curiously that why he has brought a little child here , his reply was – ‘I have brought my little child here to see Anna with his own eyes , so that he can tell to his friends or his own son or daughter that he had seen Anna Hazare with his own eyes.‘

When I saw the child sitting on his father’s soldier with his curious eyes, fixed on Anna Hazare, I was compelled to go back to my childhood which missed a great opportunity. If I was also carried like this , I certainly had not repented to have been deprived from being a part of a rare historical moment which rarely comes in the life of a country. If it had not happened so I to have claimed before my grandson with my head high – ‘I had seen Gandhi ji with my own two eyes.’

Those people who are unable to attend his movement physically and are watching him day and night on T.V. are also equally a part of this revolution.

Anna ji has very correctly requested people of this country - KEEP THE FLAME OF REVOLUTION ALWAYS BURNING , WHETHER ANNA IS THERE OR NOT.

Anna is not only an individual, he is a symbol of a spotless strong character. He will become more and more stronger as an inspiring icon with the time progresses ahead.

They are certainly lucky people who have witnessed huge and nonstop flow of people around Anna with their faces glowing with hope, enthusiasm and with unbeaten faith in their victory having no any barrier of age, caste, community or category.

Such moments come in the history of any nation very rarely.

This is an extraordinary moment of victory on a war using the Gandhian weapon of non violence in a world where nothing changes without any bloodshed.

This type of movement cannot be conducted by everybody; it needs a spotless character, packed with the power of inner soul, dedicated to others welfare.

If Anna ji had not conducted this type of movement , people would not have been able to visualize the independence movement of Gandhi ji , against the most powerful British rule, using unusual weapon of non violence and most ordinary soldiers ,who were poor, hungry ,weak ,weaponless and untrained in a world which was still facing threats of bloody wars.

In the movement of Anna Hazare, police used not even a stick to control an extra ordinary gathering of lacks and lacks of people gathered from every part of India in an open field to support their extra ordinary leader. This is certainly going to make a history. In last more than sixty years I don’t remember anything equal to it. Delhi police and its grand leadership need a loud applause.

Equally, the people who joined this movement in hugest possible number, have written a special page of self discipline. Anna Hazare generated the power of his own personality in his followers and they all felt an Anna in themselves.

Movement of Anna Hazare has exposed those, who had overpowered the genuine rights of people

Who cheated this country for quite some time by wearing neat and clean clothes and words stolen from

the golden days of our history. Many of such people have lost their faces forever.

Our Prime Minister and a few members of his government will be remembered for their wise and timely action to save a soul which is really very precious.

Anna Hazare has awakened whole India and has generated new energy in them to stand firmly before those, who had turned into looters mistaking their lords as insignificant beings.

This victory is going to inspire many countries of the world to wait and think against the way and means they are applying to achieve their goals.

When movement of independence of India was at its peak under the leadership of Gandhi ji, I was already born. Slogans like ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bhaarat Maataa ki Jai’ are anti Islam ?

Shahi Imaam Saiyad Ahmad Bukhari of Delhi ,Jama Masjid , has asked Muslims to keep away from the movement of Anna Hazare, for ,slogans like ‘vande Matram’ and ‘Bhaarat Mataa Ki Jai’ voiced there , are against the concepts of Islam.

This is certainly an unwise and shocking call from such an important religious chair. Perhaps Mr. Bukhari forgot while issuing his orders that there were poets like Nazeer and Sir Muhammad Iqbal ,who wrote poems on Hindu gods and saints. Quite a good number of old and new such Urdu poets have inspired the whole country and made higher places in the hearts of people, by their writings involving Hindu symbols. Nobody labeled them as communal expressions.

Famous poet Nazeer wrote poems like ‘Brahmaanand’ and ‘Shri Krishna ki Balleela’. His poem

‘Shri Krishna ki Bal leela’ is certainly a product of a highly charged poetic moment , in which ,describing the playful childhood of lord Krishna ,he suggests to himself at the end ‘ O Nazeer ! You also say ‘Krishna Muraari Ki Jai.‘Tum bhi nazeer Krishna Muraari ki bolo jai.’

Hundreds of years have passed ( born in 1740 died in 1830 ) , but no one has dared to call Nazeer, as a man, who caused insult to Islam in any way, by writing such poems. Both the communities , Hindus and Muslims , have great regards for this great poet.

If people like Mr. Bukhari were there in his time, he must have made his life difficult.

Here is the poem by Nazeer –

यारो सुनो ये दधि के लुटैया का बालपन।

Yaaro suno ye dadhi ke lutaiyaa ka baalpan,

औ मधुपुरी नगर के बसैया का बालपन ।।

Au Madhupuri nagar ke basaiyaa kaa balpan.

मोहन सरूप नृत्य करैया का बालपन। ।

Mohan saroop nritya karaiyaa kaa baalpan,

वन -वन के ग्वाल गौवें चरैया का बालपन।।

Van – van ke gwaal –gauein charaiyaa kaa baalpan.

ऐसा था बाँसुरी के बजैया का बालपन ।

Aisaa thhaa vansuree ke bajaiyaa kaa balpan,

क्या - क्या कहूँ मैं कृष्ण कन्हैया का बालपन।।

Kyaa – kyaa kahoon mai Krishna knhaiyaa kaa balpan.

इतना ही नहीं , अपनी इस कविता के अन्त में उन्होंने कहा –

सब मिलके यारों कृष्ण मुरारी की बोलो जै।

Sab mil ke yaaron Krishna Muraari ki bolo jai,

गोबिन्द छैल कुंज बिहारी की बोलो जै।।

Govind Chhail kunja Bihaaree ki bolo jai.

दधिचोर गोपीनाथ बिहारी की बोलो जै।

Dadhi chore Gopinaath Bihaari ki bolo Jai,

तुम भी नजीर कृष्ण मुरारी की बोलो जै।

Tum bhi nazeer , Krishna Muraari ki bolo jai.

ऐसा था बाँसुरी के बजैया का बालपन।।

Aisaa thhaa vansuree kei bajiyaa kaa baalpan

क्या - क्या कहूँ मैं कृष्ण कन्हैया का बालपन।।

Kyaa – kyaa kahoon main Krishna knhaiyaa kaa baalpan.

Famous poet Sir Muhammad Iqbal ,who wrote immortal line like ‘ Saare jahaan se achhaa Hindostan hamaaraa’ also wrote a poem titled ‘Naya Shivala’ in which he offered status of religion to the devotion of the nation –

पत्थर की मूरतों में समझा है तू खुदा है,

Patthar ki moorton mein samjhaa hai too khudaa hai,

खाके वतन का मुझको हर जर्रा देवता है।

Khake vatan ka mujhko har jarrah devataa hai.

O priest ! you think god resides only in the idol of stone,

But for me every particle of the dust of my nation is a deity.

Can Mr. Bukhari call Iqbal ‘s these lines as anti Islam ?

सच कह दूँ ऐ बिरहमन ! गर तू बुरा न माने ,

Sach kah doo ai birahman ! gar too buraa na mane,

आ गैरियत के पर्दे इकबार फिर उठा दें,

Aaa gairiyat ke parde ikbaar phir uthhaa dein,

बिछुडों॰ को फिर मिला दें ,नक्शे दुई मिटा दें।

Bichhde ko phir milaa dein , nkshe duyee mitaa dein.

सूनी पडी॰ हुई है मुद्दत से दिल की बस्ती,

Soonee padee huyee hai muddat se dil ki baste,

आ इक नया शिवाला इस देश मे बना दें।

Aa ik naya shivaalaa is deish mein banaa dein.

दुनिया के तीरथों से ऊँचा हो अपना तीरथ ,

Duniyaa ke teerathhon se oochaa ho apnaa teerathh,

दामाने - आसमा से उसका कलस मिला दें।

Daamaane Asmaa se usakaa kalash mitaa dein.

हर सुबह उठ के गायें मन्तर वो मीठे - मीठे,

Har subah uthha ke gaayein mantar vo meethhe- meethhe,

सारे पुजारियों को मै प्रीत की पिला दें।

Saare pujaariyon ko mai preet ki pilaa dein.

शक्ती भी , शान्ती भी भक्तों के गीत में है,

Shaktee bhi, shaantee bhi bhakton ke geet mei hai,

धरती के वासियों की ,मुक्ती पिरीत में है।

Dhartee ke vaasiyon ki , mukti pireet mein hai.

Commenting on religion, famous poet Akbar wrote-

मजहब को शायरों के न पूछें जनाब शेख,

Majhab ko shaayaron ken a poochhein janaab sheikh,

जिस वक्त जो खयाल है मजहब भी है वही।

Jis vakta jo khyaal hai majhab bhi vahee hai.

‘O priest ! don’t ask about the religion of poets, it fluctuates as per their mood.’

I don’t think , opinion of Mr. Bukhari , regarding slogans like ‘Vande Matram’ and ‘Bharat Mataa Ki jai’ , used in revolutionary movement of Anna Hazare , which certainly has nothing to do with religion, will be agreed to, by the thinking Muslims of today.

Will thousands of Muslim youths and people from other generations, who are participating in Anna Hare’s movement , follow the irrational call of Mr. Bukhari ?

There were thousands of Muslims who offered their supreme sacrifice voicing the same slogan ,under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi , during India’s great struggle for independence. How Bukhari will comment on them?

I feel that such misleading calls should strongly be rejected by all thinking people.

Kyaa 'Vande Maatram' Aur ' Bhaarat Maataa Ki Jai' Islaam Virodhi Naaraa Hai ?

क्या ' वन्दे मातरम' और ' भारतमाता की जै' इस्लाम विरोधी नारा है ?

दिल्ली जामा मस्जिद के शाही इमाम सैयद अहमद बुखारी ने मुसलमानों से कहा है कि वे अन्ना हजारे के आन्दोलन से दूर रहें क्योंकि वहाँ 'वन्दे मातरम’ और ‘भारत माता की जै' के नारे लगाये जाते हैं ,जो इस्लाम विरोधी है।

यदि बुखारी साहब की इस बात को मान लिया जाए तो उर्दू के ऐसे कई महान शायर हैं जिन्हें इस्लाम की परिधि से बाहर निकाल देना होगा , जिन्होंने राम , कृष्ण और शिव आदि पर भक्तिविभोर होकर शायरी की है। बुखारी साहब गाँधी जी के उन मुस्लिम आनुयायियों को क्या जबाब देंगे ,जो यही नारे लगाते हुए आजादी के लिए फना हो गये ?

नजीर उर्दू के महान शायरों में माने जाते हैं।

उन्होंने ब्रह्मानन्द' और 'श्रीकृष्ण की बाललीला' जैसी कविताएँ लिखीं , लेकिन उन्हें किसी ने इस्लाम विरोधी कहने का साहस नहीं किया। जरा कृष्ण पर लिखी उनकी कविता आप भी देखिए-

यारो सुनो ये दधि के लुटैया का बालपन।

तुम भी नजीर कृष्ण मुरारी की बोलो जै।

ऐसा था बाँसुरी के बजैया का बालपन।।

क्या - क्या कहूँ मैं कृष्ण कन्हैया का बालपन।।

अगर बुखारी साहब नजीर के जमाने में हुए होते, तो न जाने उनका क्या - से - क्या कर दिआ होता। नजीर का जन्म 1740 में हुआ था और निधन 1830 में। होसकता है बुखारी साहब को ये बातें बहुत पुरानी लगती हों। अब जरा 'सारे जहाँ से अच्छा हिन्दोस्ताँ हमारा ' जैसी अमर पंक्तियों के लेखक सर मुहम्मद साहब इकवाल की कुछ पंक्तियाँ देखिए -

सच कह दूँ ऐ बिरहमन ! गर तू बुरा न माने ,

तेरे सनमकदों के बुत हो गये पुराने।

अपनों से बैर रखना तूने बुतों से सीखा,

जंगो-जदल सिखाया वाइज को भी खुदा ने।

तंग आके आखिर हमने दैरो - हरम को छोडा॰,

वाइज का वाज छोडा॰, छोडे॰ तेरे फिसाने।

पत्थर की मूरतों में समझा है तू खुदा है,

खाके वतन का मुझको हर जर्रा देवता है।

आ गैरियत के पर्दे इकबार फिर उठा दें,

बिछुडों॰ को फिर मिला दें ,नक्शे दुई मिटा दें।

सूनी पडी॰ हुई है मुद्दत से दिल की बस्ती,

आ इक नया शिवाला इस देश मे बना दें।

दुनिया के तीरथों से ऊँचा हो अपना तीरथ ,

दामाने - आसमा से उसका कलस मिला दें।

हर सुबह उठ के गायें मन्तर वो मीठे - मीठे,

सारे पुजारियों को मै प्रीत की पिला दें।

शक्ती भी , शान्ती भी भक्तों के गीत में है,

धरती के वासियों की ,मुक्ती पिरीत में है।

मजहब पर टिप्पणी करते हुए आज के महान शायर 'अकबर' ,पूरा नाम सैयद अकबर हुसैन रिजवी ने लिखा -

मजहब को शायरों के न पूछें जनाब शेख,

जिस वक्त जो खयाल है मजहब भी है वही।

जहाँ तक अन्ना हजारे के क्रान्तिकारी आन्दोलन और उसके देशभक्तिपूरित नारों को बुखारी साहब के द्दारा गैर इस्लामी कहे जाने का सवाल है, इसके बारे देश के विवेकसम्पन्न मुसलमानों की राय बुखारी साहब से शायद ही मिलती हो। बुखारी साहब आज की युवापीढी॰ के विचारों के और उन सैंकडों॰ मुसलमानों के विचारों के बेशक प्रतिनिधि नहीं हैं ,जो अन्ना हजारे के आन्दोलन में बढ॰चढ॰ कर हिस्सा ले रहे हैं।

अन्ना हजारे की सबसे सही तस्वीर सर इकवाल की इन पंक्तियों में व्यक्त होती है –

मैं उनकी महफिले इशरत से काँप जाता हूँ ,

जो घर को फूँक के दुनिया में नाम करते हैं।
